The weather on Long Island has been gorgeous this past week, so I’ve been able to do a serious garden cleanup without passing out from the heat. I’ve been pulling down giant, no-longer-productive squash vines from an arbor, harvesting, drying and/or freezing herbs (instructions below), and digging up some invasive weeds that threaten to turn into trees.
Spending time outdoors in what feels like fall weather also has me thinking about soup weather, which, in my book, is synonymous with sweater weather. It’s right around the corner, and when it gets here, I’ll be ready.
