If you’re anything like me, you’re already thinking about the holidays — even though it’s not even Halloween yet. Many folks think gardeners are tricky to shop for during the off-season because so many gifts seem seasonally inappropriate, especially in cold climates. But just like other hobbyists, gardeners appreciate practical, innovative or fun gifts at any time of year.

I get a lot of requests for product recommendations throughout the year, especially around the holidays. So every fall, I spend countless hours compiling a list of gifts in all price ranges (even a few stocking stuffers!) that I not only recommend but would like to receive myself. In fact, I already have, love and personally use most of them.

This year, I finally found (and fell in love with) a quality garden hose I suspect I’ll have for many years. It’s a little pricey, but certainly worth the investment--and what a special gift it would make!

You’ll also find my favorite lifetime pruners, self-watering grow box, gardening shoes, gloves, windchimes tuned by a Grammy Award-winning musician, recommended books and much more.

But gardening isn’t only about the actual garden. So this year, I’m also recommending must-have kitchen, food prep and preservation gear for foodies and herb and vegetable growers, including a good-quality but well-priced food dehydrator and a countertop grow system.

And for the first time, I’ve added a section on cannabis-growing supplies.
